This is an antique Victorian cast iron vanity mirror with cherubs and gargoyles. The mirror is made of cast iron with a brass wash. It is decorated with cherubs, gargoyles, flowers and other beautiful designs. This is an antique Victorian cast iron vanity mirror with cherubs and gargoyles. I would estimate it dates circa 1890s or 1900s. The overall piece measures 10 3/4 inches tall x 13 1/4 inches wide (27.3 cm x 33.6 cm). The mirror is made of cast iron with a brass wash. It is decorated with cherubs, gargoyles, flowers and other beautiful designs. There is quite a bit of wear and/or tarnishing to the surface. Personally I like that look. The only real issue is that, when looking at the photos in the bottom right hand corner, there is some old paint. I did not attempt to clean this off as it could hurt the surface. The beveled mirror has a number of areas with fogginess, dots, light scratches and some pieces missing from the back, caused by the tabs holding the mirror in. The paper in the back has tears, old paint spots and scuffing. Some people like worn mirrors and some people don’t. The stand in the back seems to have curved over time. Still, the mirror holds up well and does not tip over at all. It weighs 2 lbs. 13 oz. (1.274 kg). It has what I always look for in frames, that wonderful old world look! Condition: Used.
