Skirt has about a 12 opening below the waistline hook. This period reenactment dress is new construction made of 100% cotton print   Dark red background with paisley style medallions add blue/black and gold. Close-up pics show color best.  Last pic added to show comparison to samples in a reference guide to era fabrics.  Dress is intended to represent a casual day-dress of the 1840-1860 period.  The bodice is darted at the front and is lined with a white cotton.  It closes right over left with black metal (like hammered bronze) buttons.  There is a hook/eye at the waist and neckline.  Skirt has about a 12 opening below the waistline hook. Sleeves feature drop-shoulder seams and open in the period's coat style.  Armholes, neck and waistline are trimmed with same fabric cording.  The skirt is knife pleated at the front and sides with cartridge pleats in the back.  It is handstitched tightly to the bodice.   Dress will best fit a 42 inch bust and 33-34 waist.   Estimated shoulder to shoulder is 18 inches with an additional 2-3 inch drop on the sleeve.  Bodice measures 17 inches nape to waist.  Skirt measures 43 inches from waist to hem at front and will taper to an additional 2-3 inches of length at the back.  You will need to hem to your desired length.  Circumference at hemline is 148 inches.   Optional bust pads will be included.  These can be used to soften the silhouette of the bodice.  They pin into the armhole seam allowance.  Perfect for reenactment or theater.  Gentle wash and air dry recommended.
