This could be jet or some older type of plastic, I don’t know the exact material. It is lacquered so it’s very difficult to test the material. The material is light weight. There is a c clasp. One area on the bottom of the brooch looks like it has a chip on it but it is lacquered over it, so I don’t believe it to be a chip. The brooch measures 2 9/16” long and 5/16” wide.
