Small rubies are used in the tail and throat section with diamonds along the bird's back. I bought this as an estate piece and do not have any gem weights. I do not know its weight but the piece is solidly made. This beautifully depicted vintage figural bird/flower brooch in 14k yellow gold features a flower comprised of five blue sapphires centered by a small, cabochon cut emerald. Small rubies are used in the tail and throat section with diamonds along the bird's back. Four additional bezel-set diamonds adorn the bird's eye and twig. I bought this as an estate piece and do not have any gem weights. I do not know its weight but the piece is solidly made. Two loops were added to give this brooch versatility to be also worn as a pendant. The chain shown in the pictures is not included. The entire width of the brooch from flower to tail tip is 1 3/4 inches. Please ask any questions you may have about this sweet little bird since I regretfully do not accept returns.
