This small decorative dish features a charming hand-painted scenic landscape with a red-roof cottage, tall tree, rolling green foreground, and softly colored distant landscape. The center scene is surrounded by a peach-toned iridescent lusterware border accented with black trim. The dish has an attractive slightly squared form with curved sides and pierced handles at each end, characteristic of Noritake's decorative wares from the Art Deco era. The underside bears the green Noritake M-in-wreath backstamp reading: Noritake M Hand Painted Made in Japan The "M" mark is associated with Morimura , the company behind Noritake's early export wares.
