The handles are turned brass and all three drawers open. The front sides have turned details and there are four turned legs on the bottom. It comes with the original receipt from the artist that reads: I certify that the cherry wood used in making this bureau is from an old table which was made before 1875. Richard C. Higgins. The front of the paper is a receipt for the chest of drawers that was originally purchased for $45 ($47.48 with tax) in March of 1986. The piece measures 3 7/8" wide, 1 7/8" deep, and 3 3/4" tall.
