This beautiful  early 1910s Christmas postcard  features a classic, richly colored lithograph of  Santa Claus with a large bag of toys , emerging from a chimney decorated with icicles and snow. Santa’s expression is warm and cheerful as he prepares to deliver gifts, while his overflowing sack includes traditional early 20th-century toys—dolls, trumpets, a toy wheel, and miniature houses. The artwork is framed by an elegant evergreen  Christmas wreath wrapped in red ribbon , with the greeting in ornate Gothic-style lettering: “Santa Claus with bag of toys Comes to visit girls and boys.” The card includes charming accents such as holly sprigs, snow-tipped greenery, and finely detailed shading typical of  golden-age American postcard printing . The textured surface pattern is from the original pressed design, adding depth to Santa, the wreath, and the greeting area. The reverse is postmarked  December 24 , from Downs, Kansas, and addressed to Portis, Kansas. It bears a  1¢ George Washington stamp , reflecting the domestic postcard rate of the 1910s. A handwritten message notes that the card is intended for a baby—adding a sweet personal touch to this already nostalgic piece. Printed in the  United States  (marked  Made in U.S.A. ), this postcard also includes the publisher’s number  S.243  and a small logo at the bottom left, identifying it as part of a Christmas series produced by one of the major American postcard firms of the era.
