There is light surface scratching and a few tiny bubbles/inclusions in the glass consistent with hand-blown production and age — see the close-up photo of the center. Large vintage Murano sommerso art glass centerpiece bowl in the classic six-point star / starfish form. Hand-blown with the sommerso ("submerged") technique — a bright chartreuse-green core cased inside layers of cobalt and sapphire blue, all encased in heavy clear crystal, so the color shifts from deep blue at the pulled points to glowing green at the center. The six points are hand-pulled and turned up at the tips, giving the piece real sculptural presence; it reads as a low centerpiece bowl from above and as a winged sculpture in profile. Thick, weighty crystal with a polished base. MEASUREMENTS (approximate): 15 in. point to point at the widest; 13 in. across the second axis; 4 in. tall. See photos for tape-measure reference.
