With this pair, only the right shoe has the seconds mark (see photo) -- the left shoe does not. New, unworn pair of Allen Edmonds BLACK (MPN 9177) MacNeil shell cordovan wingtips (only 1 of which shoes bears a factory second mark), in black Allen Edmonds retail box (the box is a bit battered, coming apart at the seams, AND the label on the box isn't all there).  Allen Edmonds MacNeil, the standard-bearer of American wingtips and of shell cordovan craftsmanship.  A new pair of AE Shell Cordovan MacNeils would retail for $850.  You'd have to be a cobbler to figure out why they're seconds because I cannot.  An Allen Edmonds second is marked with a stamp in the shape of a shoe on the sole, just forward of the heel.
