This set was actually made in Germany, most likely in 1938 shortly after the release of the classic Disney movie. The box itself has wonderful graphics on all sides that remain crisp and clear. Given the adorable, colorful and cheerful design of the dwarfs with their bright mica glitter, pipe cleaner ties, and wonderful beards, Snow White is disappointing in both design and colors - certainly not in line with little girls' understanding of her magical beauty. Offered here is the full set of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs papier mache container ornaments created under the copyright of Walt Disney Productions.  This set was actually made in Germany, most likely in 1938 shortly after the release of the classic Disney movie.  Included is the original box and although there are some taped areas, it is somewhat amazing that this 1930s box is still in the condition as found. The box itself has wonderful graphics on all sides that remain crisp and clear. Each dwarf stands approximately 5 to 5-1/2 inches high, while Snow White is about 6 inches tall.  The head on each dwarf comes off to allow insertion of a candy or small gift before hanging the ornament, and all 8 pieces still have their original metal-thread attached hanging loops. In contrast, please note that while the base of Snow White was designed to open, the closure on this Snow White most likely was lost at some point, and a cover of the opening has since been attached. Given the adorable, colorful and cheerful design of the dwarfs with their bright mica glitter, pipe cleaner ties, and wonderful beards, Snow White is disappointing in both design and colors - certainly not in line with little girls' understanding of her magical beauty.  Please note one dwarf has a small chip on his nose, and some cracking is seen on Snow White's arm as shown in the photos.  In addition, some necks and/or openings on several dwarfs reflect slightly cracked or small missing pieces.  Specifically, one dwarf (Doc) has an added tiny "popsicle stick" to keep his head in place.  Even so, all heads stay on securely although it is best to grasp the bodies of the ornaments instead of the heads when lifting. Two ornaments still have their original paper "WDP Container - Made in Germany" tags attached to the hanging loop.  Overall, this wonderful set with its original box remains in incredible condition, not only for its age but also considering the delicate construction of the paper mache ornaments.  Please review all photos.
