View 1967 Vietnam War US Military Combat Boots Black Leather 9R SPORTWELT Biltrite with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. Marked size 9R (Regular). A great original Vietnam-era military collectible with a desirable 1967 date, wearable 9R size, Sportwelt manufacturer markings, Biltrite soles and excellent overall presentation. Excellent surviving pair of authentic Vietnam War-era U.S. military combat boots, manufactured by Sportwelt Shoe Company, Inc. and clearly dated July 3, 1967. Marked size 9R (Regular). These are a particularly nice example considering they are nearly 60 years old. Black leather uppers retain a very nice appearance with relatively light evidence of actual wear. The boots retain their Biltrite “Oil Not Slip” rubber soles and Biltrite heels, which also show comparatively light wear. Construction, interior military markings, manufacturer information and date are shown in the photographs. The boots were found with vintage adjustable wooden shoe trees stored inside, which are included with the purchase and have likely helped them retain their excellent shape over the years. One original lace remains; the second lace is missing. I have elected not to replace the missing lace or polish/refinish the leather, preferring to leave these as found for the collector or purist rather than introduce modern replacements or alter the original finish. These do not appear to be steel-toe boots, and I have found no steel-toe designation in the markings. There are expected minor scuffs, creasing, surface marks and other signs of age and previous use, but overall these present exceptionally well for military footwear dating to 1967. Photos are an important part of the condition report and should be reviewed carefully for the best representation of condition.
