The eggshell porcelain is wonderfully thin and translucent. There is very minimal shelf wear to the base rims and minimal paint/gilding loss, typical of porcelain of this age. Excellent color clarity. Up for sale is a beautiful, matched vintage Japanese eggshell porcelain teacup and saucer set featuring the classic "Geisha Girl" in a "Garden Scene" (Three Ladies) motif. The artwork is beautifully transfer-printed and finished with hand-painted colored enamels, a rich reddish-orange handle/rim, and delicate gold moriage accents.  Both pieces feature an orange-red six-character square apocryphal seal mark on the base reading " 大清乾隆年製 " (Da Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi). This mark was used by Japanese porcelain workshops in the late Meiji to Taisho eras (c. 1890s–1930s) to signify prestige for the export market.  Teacup Height: Approximately 1.5 inches, Saucer Diameter: Approximately 4.75 inches. Excellent vintage/antique condition with no chips, cracks, flea bites, or repairs. The eggshell porcelain is wonderfully thin and translucent.
