This 2005 ornament has aceramic stone in the center showing the image of the White House surrounded by trees and having a man and a woman standing in front of it with the woman holding an umbrella. The ornament is gold plated brass with the round ceramic stone that features an illustration inspired by a period engraving of the south front of the White House. The color scheme and highly decorative wreath design are derived from art objects, including the family China, needlework, and historic frames in the collection at Lawnfield, the historic Garfield house in Mentor, Ohio. There is a JAG monogram on the ornament below the ceramic stone which is styled after the monogram used in Garfield's inaugural ball decorations which now hangs at Lawnfield. Th pattern on the 2005 ornament box is based on high Victorian flocked wallpaper in the Garfield house. The ornament comes in its original box with a 4-page booklet that outlined the history of President Garfield, our 20th president. The ornament is in its original box and is in a lightly used condition. The ornament is beautiful and intact and would make a great addition to you collection.
