Before modern lodges became widespread, tent camps offered travelers a comfortable way to experience Yosemite while remaining close to the park’s natural scenery. The postcard is a  color lithograph , a printing process commonly used during the  Golden Age of Postcards (approximately 1907–1915)  to produce richly colored scenic views for travelers and collectors. The  divided back , allowing both correspondence and the recipient’s address on the reverse, is consistent with postcards produced after 1907.
