View Ellen Clapsaddle Merry Christmas Children Wheelbarrow Gifts 1921 Postcard with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. 5 in the series. Charming  Ellen H. Clapsaddle  signed  Christmas postcard  featuring two rosy-cheeked children in winter clothing — one pushing a red wheelbarrow filled with neatly wrapped presents, the other holding a steaming pie. The caption reads  “Merry Christmas”  in elegant red lettering across the bottom. Clapsaddle’s tender depiction of childhood and holiday joy shines through in the soft colors, fine detail, and gentle expressions that made her one of the most beloved illustrators of the early 20th century. This postcard was  published by Wolf & Co., New York , and is marked  No. 5  in the series. The back bears a  Lansing, Michigan postmark dated December 22, 1921 , with a green  1¢ George Washington stamp . It is addressed to  Beatrice, Gertrude, and Agnes Gannon of Fowlerville, Michigan , with a warm handwritten holiday message from “Uncle Hugh and Aunt May.” Ellen Clapsaddle (1865–1934) was America’s most prolific postcard artist, creating hundreds of designs for major publishers such as International Art Co. and Wolf & Co.
