Beautiful vintage Rosenthal Sanssouci 26-piece porcelain tea and serving set, made in Selb, Germany and marked “U.S. Zone.” Dating to the immediate post-WWII period, circa 1945–1949. Features Rosenthal’s classic Sanssouci embossed rococo-style porcelain with delicate multicolor floral bouquets and pink/burgundy trim. An especially beautiful collection with numerous coordinating serving pieces in addition to a complete set of 8 teacups and saucers. 26-piece set includes: * 8 teacups * 8 matching saucers * Large lidded coffee pot * Covered sugar bowl * Creamer * Gravy/sauce boat with matching underplate * Large covered serving/vegetable dish * Additional matching serving bowls and dishes as pictured Condition: Pristine vintage condition overall, especially considering the age of the set. The porcelain, floral decoration and raised detailing present beautifully. Two of the eight saucers have small chips on the underside only; these are not visible from the top when displayed or in use. Please see close-up photos of these areas. The remaining pieces are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks noted. All pieces feature the coordinating Rosenthal Sanssouci design and Rosenthal Germany/U.S. Zone backstamp.
