Type 7 was produced 1893-1899, type 8 1899-1902. The only markings on the plane bed is 'No. 8". There are no markings on the irons. Good Wooden handles, no cracks. Good mouth, no cracks. Pretty clean for its age. Vintage STANLEY No. 8 Smooth Sole 24" Wood Plane. I sent photos to a kindly EBAYer and he determined  this plane to be either a type 7 or 8. Type 7 was produced 1893-1899, type 8 1899-1902.  The only markings on the plane bed is 'No. 8". There are no markings on the irons. Good Wooden handles, no cracks. Good mouth, no cracks. Pretty clean for its age. Good user. Smooth bottom. Most of the Japanning is gone, as you can see. Condition is Used. Shipping cost is least by far with Fed-Ex.
