A very elegant oval serving bowl from W.H. Grindley & Co. Ltd. marked "Chelsea Ivory," which I believe is the shape. The pattern is "Winthrop" with blue and golden yellow flowers in urns. This bowl has extended handles on the rim with embossed gold trim. W.H. Grindley & Co. Ltd. WINTHROP 10" Oval Serving Bowl, Blue & Yellow Flowers, Gold Trim A very elegant oval serving bowl from W.H. Grindley & Co. Ltd. marked "Chelsea Ivory," which I believe is the shape. The pattern is "Winthrop" with blue and golden yellow flowers in urns. This bowl has extended handles on the rim with embossed gold trim.  The bowl measures 10 inches wide across the handles and 7.75 inches wide in the center of the rim. It makes a very pretty display, but does have a shallow chip on the under-edge of one handle (see closeup photo with red arrow). There is also light overall crazing, most visible on the foot. I do not see any signs of browning or hairlines. The foot has a black shield logo with "W.H. Grindley & Co Ltd | Chelsea Ivory | England | Reg. No. 714550." This registration number was first used in 1925. There are also assorted other marks, including a red 11 and a gold 11, and an impressed mark I can't make out. Condition: Used.
