Antique Chinese Seated Official Gilt Wooden Statue A hand carved wooden figure depicting a seated male official shown in formal frontal posture upon an integral stepped base with open architectural supports. The figure wears a tall cap and richly gilt robe decorated with incised and scrolling motifs, retaining substantial original gold surface with red, green, and black polychrome accents. One hand is raised with index finger extended in a gesture of instruction or authority while the other rests forward across the lap.
