Offered is a beautiful, super soft antique hand-quilted red and white quilt that has been preserved within the same family for generations. Included is a handwritten family history note documenting the quilt's ownership and stating that the quilt was handmade in 1818. The quilt features a striking red and white geometric design with extensive hand quilting throughout. It is a wonderful example of early American needlework and would make a fantastic addition to an antique quilt, textile, history museum, or primitive Americana collection. Condition: This quilt shows significant age and use. There is separation along portions of the center seam, fraying, wear, discoloration, and other age-related condition issues visible in the photographs.  Provenance: The accompanying handwritten note traces the quilt through multiple generations of the Brown family and states that the quilt was handmade in 1818.
