The age of the pottery can be roughly understood by looking at the bottom. From the late Edo period to the early Meiji period, it was made using a manufacturing method that did not apply glaze to the bottom to prevent it from sticking to the kiln. It looks like a snake's eye so it is called Janome-Kodai. There are sesame spots (Goma) and dust marks. Sesame and dust marks are spots where ash falls when fired in a kiln.
