This particular type of cup is called tsubomi, or "bud type," because of its resemblance to a flower bud. In terms of size, it is also called an ochoko. This beautiful imari sake cup is fully decorated with precise gold linework of flowers and vines on a raised-texture, blue-dotted background. There is a red-and-gold banded line near the base for one extra touch of color. The inside is solid white. It has the Kutani marking on the bottom.
