This is BY FAR the most highly sought after and hardest to find character from this entire series. Sakura is the second Unicorno of eleven in Unicorno Series 2, which was released in 2012. She is a popular tokidoki character, being featured on many of their prints, artwork, and a few different series. She is one of the only Unicorno characters to have a 10" figure made of her. There is also a Unicorno from the first Cherry Blossom series named Sakurako. They have similar names, but are nothing alike and are not to be confused, although they are sometimes listed as the same figure by resellers. There is also a Unicorno from Holiday Unicorno Series 3 named Spirit who looks very similar to Sakura. She has a white(albeit, shiny) body, a black mane, and branches on both sides of her body. In addition to this, Sakura has a Neon Star figure that has the same theme as her and shares similar attributes. There are a few differences between the two, however, such as the fact that Hana has a light pink body, hooves, and horn, as well as a red stripe in her mane. Hana's design is also extremely simplified. Sakura is the first Unicorno to clearly take inspiration from an East Asian culture, which sets the trend for future Unicorno series. Sakura has a white or light lavender or pale pastel pink body base and an all black mane. Her horn is yellow, her tail is red, and her gold hooves are possibly meant to resemble zori sandals. Her multiple hair ornaments, or kanzashi, imply that she is inspired by maiko - which ks known as a Japanese geisha in training - rather than actual geisha. Sakura's kanzashi are very simple. She has what look like two kogai pins in the front of her mane, two ends sticking out on each side. In the middle of her mane, where her ears are, is an ōgi bira with a non-symmetrical kogai attached to it. All of these kanzashi are the same yellow as her horn. She also has a small hana kanzashi(flower hair ornament made of silk) on the right side of her head, and an even smaller one on the left side. These hana kanzashi are most likely inspired by the April style kanzashi, considering the fact that they are all sakura blossoms, although this combination usually includes butterflies and bonbori lanterns in addition to the cherry blossoms. Sakura has writing on both sides of her head that says "Tokidoki"( 時 々 ), which means "sometimes" and is the name of the brand. It is written in Japanese kanji, and is written in the old traditional way of up to down as opposed to modern left to right. The left side of her head has it written in black, and on the right it's in red ink surrounded by a red rectangle, similar in shape to a fortune slip. On the outer edges of her eyes are small red, rounded triangles, similar to the red outer eyeliner of a maiko. She also has small pink flowers where her blush marks would be. On the right side of her body is a brown tree branch covered in cherry blossoms, which starts above her front leg, goes right under her wing, and then all the way down her back leg. The branch on her left side starts near her front knee, goes near where her wing is, and then travels down her back thigh. The tokidoki logo on her chest is the same red as her tail. This pin is from a special limited edition series that was available to purchase for sale in 2022. The Cherry Blossom series is a really popular and very hard to find series of the tokidoki brand collectible toys. The Cherry Blossom Series is highly sought after and is in their third season I think now. These pins are designed off the series 1 of Cherry Blossom mini figures. The unicorno mini figures are hardly just collectible toys really, because they are for adults to collect and all are complete works of art! The first series of miniature unicorn themed toy collectible figures called Cherry Blossom was released in 2020. Then in 2022 these highly collectible Cherry Blossom edition enamel pins came out as well! My daughter and I collect these and love to find a complete series when we can.
