This serves as a unique way to display the polished amethyst egg. The egg fits quite nicely in the mouth of the paperweight and looks like it is the lid or top. The purple quartz covers the stain and makes a statement sure to serve as a conversation piece. Crafted in the United States, this 4-inch paperweight features a beautiful trumpet style floral pattern in shades of soft blue. Measures: Joe St. Clair : 4.5"; Egg: 2" x 1.5" Note: St Clair glass was made in Elwood, Indiana between 1938 and 1987, and since then the family tradition of glass-making has been continued by his nephew Joe Rice. The story of the St Clair family goes back to the Franco-Prussian war (1870-71), a time of great turmoil in the glass industry. Clair Glass Works opened in 1941, and their flawless crystal earned the praise of artistic glass connoisseurs. After Joe St. Clair died in 1987, his nephew, Joe Rice, stepped up to carry on the family tradition. Today, Rice is semi-retired and maintains his operation "House of Glass." Condition: Used.
