View GINO HOLLANDER (1924 – 2015) Abstract Expressionist Signed 1962 NYC with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. Signed and dated in the front lower left corner "G Hollander 8-62" and signed on the reverse canvas "Gino Hollander" with the title "Sad Mood" written in black ink on the top stretcher, right hand corner. August 27, 2015) a world renowned artist who's paintings are found in the collections of many museum and important private collectors.  This is an early work of the artist and dates from the era of the New York School of Abstract Expressionist style.  It was most likely painted in the vicinity of New York City and could possibly be an abstract view of the New York City skyline. The painting dates from 1962 and was also possibly painted around the time of the Hollander's relocation to Spain and documenting an important time in the life of the artist. Signed and dated in the front lower left corner "G Hollander 8-62" and signed on the reverse canvas "Gino Hollander" with the title "Sad Mood" written in black ink on the top stretcher, right hand corner. Along with the title, there appears to be an artist catalog or gallery inventory identification number of "284462" also written on the same stretcher side.  The painting is framed in the minimalist applied wood self framing style of the Abstract Expressionists and was likely done by the artist himself. Presented in as acquired condition. This is one of the earliest works by Gino Hollander being offered online and is a rare opportunity to acquire one of his strong abstract pieces influenced by the early New York School artists of Abstract Expressionism.
