I have a good Stanley Bailey no4 flat sole smoothing plane for sale, it is in good working condition. It has a kidney cap. It is an earlier Sweetheart. It has good steel on the body with some light wear.  The iron has good length, it will sharpen really well.  It is an earlier Sweetheart. One side has some pitting BUT the cutting side looks pretty good and will sharpen really well. The frog works well with a good lateral adjuster, no forward aft.  The front knob is good, the rear tote is also good and is still holding well without movement. The cap has some wear on the back plate, a common wear spot.. it works well. The japanning has wear, a lot id missing at the rear.  This plane has some wear, but really just needs a sharpen for use..
