I did note that the lid is slightly offset by about 1/32" at the front corners as seen in a photo with the left corner circled in blue. There is a very small, very minor 1/16" flaw in the original casting, on the top as seen, circled in blue. img{max-width:100%} This is an Antique / Vintage Chinese Repousse Enamel and Brass Cigarette Box. The box has a circular enameled temple design in the center and a floral motif enameling on each corner, all with a beautiful green background.  The inside is lined with cedar as befits a cigarette box. The bottom is marked "CHINA" (note backwards engraving of the N). In looking at other boxes and items like this on ebay, I noted that many of these repousse boxes were misidentified as Cloisonne where the vitreous enamel is deposited in tiny individual cells formed by soldering fine brass wires on the surface to form the design.  The small box is 4 5/8" x 3 1/2" x 1 1/2" tall. We have a variety of antique and vintage enamel items in our ebay store as well as a variety of antique and vintage tobacciana items including match box covers, match holders, and repousse and cloisonne enamel pieces such as stamp boxes.  Condition Often these antique repousse have significant chipping and / or wear on the enamel.  This one is in excellent condition with respect to the enameling as you can see on the photos.  I did note that the lid is slightly offset by about 1/32" at the front corners as seen in a photo with the left corner circled in blue.  There is a very small, very minor 1/16" flaw in the original casting, on the top as seen, circled in blue.
