The exterior showcases large blooming pink peonies alongside yellow and pink chrysanthemums, surrounded by delicate green foliage and floral sprigs. It features a stunning seafoam turquoise enamel ground intricately hand-painted with a continuous, vibrant floral pattern. The exterior showcases large blooming pink peonies alongside yellow and pink chrysanthemums, surrounded by delicate green foliage and floral sprigs. The light weight of the bowl is an excellent sign of its craftsmanship, highlighting the thin, delicate translucent porcelain body typical of late 19th and early 20th-century export wares. Measurements & Details: • Diameter: 5.5 inches across the top rim • Height: Approximately 2.25 inches tall • Weight: 5 ounces • Markings: Stamped with the block-letter red overglaze "CHINA" mark on the base, dating this piece to the late Qing Dynasty or early Republic period (circa 1891–1920s). Condition: Excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks, or structural repairs. The unglazed foot rim shows minor expected shelf wear consistent with age. As is typical with antique hand-painted Chinese export porcelain, there are minor original manufacturing/kiln characteristics present. This includes a small glaze skip near the base, a few microscopic pinholes, and tiny iron specks/kiln soot trapped beneath the turquoise enamel. There is also an original vertical glaze run/crawl texture visible on one side near the rim from the historic firing process. These inherent traits add to the authentic period character of the piece. The interior turquoise glaze displays natural hand-applied pooling variations and some light, expected age-related mineral staining/discoloration at the very bottom center, as shown in the photos.
