This is for a lovely 1950/60's Venetian freeform glass bowl/ashtray, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. This is for a lovely 1950/60's Venetian freeform glass bowl/ashtray, made on the island of  Murano , near Venice, Italy. Made by  AVEM (Arte Vetraria Muranese) , part of their  "Bizantino"  series (commonly referred to by collectors as  "tutti-frutti" ) which was introduced in 1953. Similar items are shown in the book  "AVEM, Arte Vetraria Muranese, Artistic Production 1932 - 1972"  by Marc Heiremans (pages 106-109, 209, 218 and 222).  Decorated with silver leaf   and multicoloured murrine canes and Cased in Clear Glass. Made in a fantastic Crimp shape. Measures: 6.20" Wide x 2.75" Tall Great Condition. No cracks or chips. There is a Shallow Popped Bubble in the Bottom of the Bowl from the manufacturing process.
