The hinged bangle opens on a side hinge and closes with a tension tab, so it slips on easily and stays put. The decorated top plate is a long tapered oval; the rest of the bangle is a slim, plain, comfortable band. What makes these pieces collectible is the shellwork - the flower petals are individually cut mother of pearl with a small dome center, and the four surrounding leaves are abalone, each one flashing a different mix of green, rose and blue depending on how the light hits it.
