His suit is a shiny material and stamped Japan on the back. VTG Bell Ringing Santa Claus KYO Occupied Japan Wind Up Toy RARE Christmas 1947-1952 This vintage wind up, bell ringing Santa Claus was made by the KYO company between 1947 and 1952 in Japan.  His head is made of blow mold style plastic and hand painted.  His feet and inner structure feel like a tin toy and the ball the bell is in is made of plastic.  His suit is a shiny material and stamped Japan on the back. It is a uniform orange color, I'm not sure if it faded this color or if it is the original color of the suit.  I do not have the key needed to wind him and I am not able to turn the post that comes out of his back where the key would attach. I am uncertain if he still works or not but overall he looks to be in good condition. So I am selling his as not currently working.  His mesh sack is stuffed with a material that looks a bit like Easter grass.  Definitely a great rare vintage decor item. He stands approximately 5 1/2" tall at the top of his hat and 6" tall at the top of the bell.    Please review pictures for condition of item, pictures are part of the description and exactly what you are purchasing.
