A pair of hand-fabricated sterling silver earrings in the Mexican mid-century modernist idiom. Each earring is a domed, slightly irregular oval plaque with an abstract biomorphic design pierced through the front and set over a recessed, shadowboxed ground, accented with three applied silver beads. The two earrings are mirror images rather than identical stampings — the piercing was cut by hand, one at a time. Marks: Both earrings are clearly stamped on the reverse: STERLING / MEXICO / Salvador (script) / 162 Attribution:  This mark format is recorded for Salvador Terán, a Mexican silversmith who worked independently from his Mexico City workshop starting in 1952.  Fittings: Period screw-back (for non-pierced ears).
