A large and genuinely striking Joan Rivers butterfly brooch, with stained-glass style enamel wings framed in polished gold tone and a lustrous pink faux pearl body. At 92 mm wingtip to wingtip this is a statement brooch. The wings are laid out like leaded glass - each cell of red, amber, green and rose enamel separated by a raised gold rib - which is the look the Joan Rivers Classics Collection became known for. Blue cabochons sit at each wingtip, a green cabochon marks the thorax, and the whole piece is domed rather than flat so it curves over a lapel or a collar.
