A large carved mother-of-pearl flower on a beaded sterling frame — five broad petals cut from a single piece of white shell, each one carved with radiating grooves that make the nacre flash as the pendant turns. The shell is genuine mother of pearl, hand-carved and hand-finished, and its iridescence shifts through cream, silver and faint pink and green depending on the light. It sits on a five-lobe sterling backing frame and is pinned at the centre by a cluster of applied sterling beads arranged as a cross, with a matching beaded bail above — the granulated bead work is the Bali-influenced style that gives the piece its handmade character. The mount is solid sterling silver marked "CHINA" and "925". The pendant is 35 x 29 x 10 mm and weighs 7.82 g including the shell.
