View Vintage Hand Carved Wooden Statue/ Figure of Man Playing Drum with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. It seems to be carved from solid wood, weighs just under 8 oz. The base wood itself is dark brown with slightly reddish undertone. The man's hat and the base are a darker almost black color; his v-neck tee and drum are a dark red, and his pants blue. This is a wooden carved statue/ figurine of a man playing a tall floor drum with his hands. I acquired this from an antique store and cannot attest to its authenticity, artist, or country/culture of origin. My guess (and it's only that) is that it is Haitian, based on some other similar ones I have seen. It seems to be carved from solid wood, weighs just under 8 oz. The figure is 9” tall, see pics. The base wood itself is dark brown with slightly reddish undertone. The man's hat and the base are a darker almost black color; his v-neck tee and drum are a dark red, and his pants blue. The colors are most visible when viewed right up close. He's got a faint smile on his face. I can't tell you much more about him, other than that I spotted him from across the store and it pulled me in, ultimately not allowing me to leave him there.
