The bracelet is built from two alternating link types. A crisp Art Deco revival line bracelet that alternates the cool violet of bezel-set amethyst against the warm steel glitter of pave marcasite - a combination that has never really gone out of style, and one that wears beautifully with both daytime and evening dress. The bracelet is built from two alternating link types. Fourteen round amethysts sit in tidy raised bezels, and between them run elongated navette-shaped plaques pave-set with faceted marcasite inside a milgrain-edged frame, each plaque pierced with two slots at the shoulder so the whole line stays flexible and lies flat on the wrist. The metal is solid 925 sterling with the darkened recesses that marcasite jewellery is finished with on purpose - the contrast is what makes the stones read. It fastens with a proper box clasp and a fold-over safety catch, shown here both closed and open. The clasp tongue is stamped 925 next to the maker's mark SU in a square cartouche - a Thai marcasite house whose work turns up regularly in this category.
