The movement has been serviced and adjusted by Santana Watch Works. The dial shows extensive natural age-related patina that gives it a very distinctive meteorite-like appearance. This is not a meteorite dial; the texture and coloration are the result of genuine aging. Case, crystal and original bracelet show normal scratches, marks and wear consistent with a watch approximately five decades old. Description Vintage 1970s Citizen Automatic – Ref. 71-9013 / 4-164601 SMT A fantastic piece of 1970s Japanese watch design with an exceptionally distinctive naturally aged dial. The original dial has developed extensive aging and surface patina over the decades, producing an almost meteorite-like texture when viewed under different lighting. It gives this watch tremendous character and makes it essentially impossible to duplicate. Importantly, this is natural dial aging — not an actual meteorite dial and not advertised as one. The stainless-steel cushion-style case, applied hour markers and integrated-style original Citizen bracelet give the watch the classic bold 1970s appearance. Inside is Citizen’s dependable Caliber 8200A automatic mechanical movement with 17 jewels, providing central seconds together with day and date indication. Dial Condition — Important The dramatic surface visible in the photographs is genuine age-related dial deterioration/patina. It resembles the crystalline texture of meteorite from certain angles, but: This watch does NOT contain a meteorite dial. The aging is part of the watch’s vintage character and is being preserved rather than refinished. Cosmetic Condition The case and bracelet retain visible scratches, surface marks and signs of normal vintage use. I intentionally have not tried to make the watch look new.
