INCREDIBLY RARE Noritake by Morimura Brothers set of 12 dinner plates. imura Bros. for Noritake, made in Japan and hand painted on. pattern is rare for Noritake, it is in keeping with Noritake., elaborate gardens. INCREDIBLY RARE Noritake by Morimura Brothers set of 12 dinner plates.  Each  Nor itake  plate has a decorative banding of gilt garlands, orange/red background with four  cartouche vignette images of classical figures  playing instruments in a garden typical of  the  Classical Revival by Mor imura Bros. for Noritake, made in Japan and hand painted on  glazed ceramic. The image s of the Classical figures  are similar to those  found  on  plates  by European ceramics firm of  Rudolf Kam p f .  Nor itake, during this period , als o p roduced  other traditional  patterns and designs such as  fox hunt scenes , elaborate gardens, and  other decorative plates  in four cartouches on the band/rim referencing traditional  European imagery.  While th is  pattern is rare for Noritake, it is in keeping with Noritake ’ s  mid 20 th  century production of dinnerware patterns that mimic traditional European  designs .  The p late is marked on the unders ide as  “ Nor itake China Hand Painted Ja pan ”  with the wreath and M  backstamp of  the  Norit ake firm.
