View Ellen Clapsaddle Santa Child Stocking Toys Christmas Greetings 1912 Postcard with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. A smiling child peeks through the curtains as Santa gestures toward her. The card showscorner and edge wear, surface wear/soiling, age toning and multiple noticeable creases/wrinkles. Creasing and impressions are particularly apparent on the reverse. Christmas greeting postcard featuring artwork by noted postcard illustrator  Ellen Clapsaddle . The colorful scene depicts Santa Claus in his traditional red suit holding a stocking beside a large sack overflowing with toys. A smiling child peeks through the curtains as Santa gestures toward her. The humorous greeting reads: “Hey Santa see if you can stretch that there stocking ’ust a little.” Across the bottom is the decorative holiday greeting  “Christmas Greetings.” This postcard was mailed in  1912 , placing it within the  Golden Age of postcards , an era when illustrated holiday cards were enormously popular for sending Christmas greetings.
