The authentic backstamp reads: Eggshell Georgian, Homer Laughlin, Made in U.S.A., L 42 N 5, dating this piece exactly to December 1942. Condition Details (Please Read): Decorative Appeal: The rim chips are on the outer edge/underside and are only a little bit visible from the front. Because they are hidden so well when the piece is facing forward, this platter would make a really nice decorative display piece for a china cabinet or wall hanging display. Substantial Build: Please note that despite the "Eggshell" product line name, this is a large, substantial, and extremely heavy vintage ceramic serving piece (not flimsy or lightweight). It has a solid, heavy-duty feel in the hand. Chipping Flaws: There are two distinct chips located on the outer underside rim of the platter. One is a small, shallow flea-bite chip, and the second is a larger, more noticeable chip (both are isolated in the close-up photos).
