The surface is exceptionally decorative, with dense cast floral relief covering the body and neck. Particularly interesting is that the floral decoration continues on the underside base. Each side has sculptural branching handles that flatten into organic forms resembling reishi/lingzhi fungus. Here is a very unusual striking Japanese patinated bronze vase, attributed to the late Meiji to early Taisho period, circa 1890-1925. This substantial vase weighs approximately 3.24lbs and stands 9.5" tall.  The surface is exceptionally decorative, with dense cast floral relief covering the body and neck. Particularly interesting is that the floral decoration continues on the underside base. Each side has sculptural branching handles that flatten into organic forms resembling reishi/lingzhi fungus. It has a beautiful naturally aged patina with areas of oxidation and surface variation consistent with age. No signature or maker's mark that I can see. Stunning rare piece!!
