Description Wonderful vintage hand-pieced Nine Patch quilt top, likely dating to approximately the 1930s–1940s. Made in a classic scrappy Nine Patch pattern with a large assortment of period cotton fabrics including florals, plaids, stripes, solids and novelty prints in blue, red, pink, green, yellow and other colors. Some fabrics have the appearance of period feed/flour sack cottons. The top is hand pieced, with the original hand stitching and irregular seam allowances clearly visible from the reverse. The varied fabrics give this piece a wonderful make-do, utilitarian character. This is an unfinished quilt top only — no batting, backing or binding. It remains very displayable but is being sold as a vintage textile with age-related wear. There are scattered stains/spotting and areas of fabric deterioration, including holes/losses to some individual patches. Please enlarge and review all photographs, which are part of the description.
