Description : Charming handmade studio pottery lidded trinket box featuring hand-painted bird, fish and geometric folk-art designs in earthy brown and black tones over a cream-colored clay body. The lid features a large stylized bird, with additional hand-painted designs around the sides and inside the box and lid. The irregular hand-formed shape, brushwork and rustic finish give this small piece plenty of character. The underside bears an incised artist’s mark/signature, although the maker has not been identified.
