View Vintage Chinese Carved Wood Guanyin Kwan Yin Gilt Statue 17” Bodhisattva with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. There is a noticeable split/crack at the base as shown in the photographs. This is carved wood rather than resin or molded composition. The underside shows visible wood grain and carving/tool marks. Vintage Carved Wood Guanyin / Kwan Yin Gilt Statue – Approx. 17” Tall Beautiful carved wooden figure depicting Guanyin (Kwan Yin), the Buddhist Bodhisattva of Compassion, standing on a carved lotus-style pedestal. The figure has an aged gold/gilt finish with darker painted details and a warm reddish-brown underlayer visible in areas of natural wear. The flowing robes, serene expression, raised hand gesture and carved pedestal give this piece wonderful character and presence. The statue measures approximately 17 inches tall and weighs almost 2 pounds. This is carved wood rather than resin or molded composition. The underside shows visible wood grain and carving/tool marks. Condition: This is an older/vintage piece and shows age-related wear throughout, including rubbing and loss to the gilt finish, surface wear, and age/shrinkage cracking in the wood.
