This piece is a Late Victorian to Edwardian era (circa 1890–1910) brooch with a 10k gold purity mark and an open "C" clasp. The brooch features an elegant oval silhouette with openwork detailing, scrollwork borders, and cannetille-style texturing. The centerpiece is a prominent pink/magenta oval cabochon or low-facet stone. During this period, these stones were frequently vivid pink tourmalines, rhodolite garnets, or high-quality paste glass / doublet stones crafted to mimic fine gemstones. This stone is not identified. The main gem is encircled by a halo of delicate seed pearls, with two larger pearls acting as horizontal visual anchors on the ends. The Clasp is an open "C" clasp. The brooch measures approximately 22x15mm and the center stone measures approximately 9x4mm. It weighs 2.0 grams complete.
