The relic and picture are covered and protected under a layer of plastic. are rare, are considered sacred, and are usually found in churches. For sale is a vintage French Saint Therese 3rd class relic cloth badge. This item measures approx. 1" wide by 1 3/8" high and is small in size. The front has an image of Saint Therese and there is a tiny piece of white relic cloth on the front (which is under the cross made of brown yarn on the bottom  left of the badge.) The white relic cloth is tiny in size- measuring 1/8" wide x  1/4" long. The relic and picture are covered and protected under a layer of plastic. The back of this item is brown leather-like cloth. Both sides are held together with  thread stitches. This item is vintage and has a great deal of age and wear including discoloration,  ground-in dirt, part of the picture is missing, and many of the threads are very worn.  See photos for details. First and 2nd class relics are rare, are considered sacred, and are usually found in churches.  First class relics are actually from the body of the saint like a strand of hair. Second class relics are something the saint owned like a Bible or a piece of clothing.  3rd class are just "touch" relics. They are pieces of cloth that have been touched to a 1st or 2nd class relic and then cut up into tiny pieces and put into medals, holders, etc... It may have been a piece of cloth that was touched to the saint, touched their tomb, or  touched to anything they owned or wore. I only sell 3rd class relics which I have bought over the years at various sales, and for the most part, I have no history of the items. Condition: Used.
