Beautiful antique American Brilliant Period cut glass 2-piece set , featuring an exceptionally intricate all-over geometric pattern with brilliant hobstars, starbursts, fans, crosshatched sections, deep miter cuts, and interlocking geometric motifs. The workmanship is striking. Both pieces are heavily decorated with numerous individual cut elements that catch and reflect the light beautifully. The larger piece has a dramatic scalloped/sawtooth-style perimeter, while the smaller deep bowl repeats the same elaborate cutting, making the two pieces a wonderful coordinating set. The American Brilliant Period, generally dating from approximately 1876–1916 , is particularly admired for its highly skilled hand-cut glasswork and elaborate patterns. Set includes: 1 round cut glass plate/tray – approximately 8 inches in diameter 1 deep cut glass bowl – approximately 5 inches in diameter 2 pieces total The pattern features multiple hobstar-style medallions surrounded by sharply cut geometric stars, fans, diamonds, crosshatching, and sweeping miter-cut bands. The density and complexity of the cutting gives both pieces tremendous sparkle and visual depth. Condition: Excellent antique condition. No major damage is apparent in the photographs. As with antique hand-cut glass of this age, please review the close-up photographs carefully for any minute age-related surface wear or tiny fleabites that may be difficult to see among the numerous cut points.
