Graceful old Mexican silver and colorful abalone shell brooch presents a proud peacock in all his glorious plumage. The silver metal is finely chased and  depicts his feathers. In great vintage condition--circa 1940s. Well made piece; dependable old Mexican quality  SIZE: 2-3/4"x 1-1/2"----approximately 7cm x 4cm HALLMARKS: LET; Hecho en Mex; Taxco 925; Sterling in cursive script. These hallmarks are referenced in Billie Hougart’s “The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks”, on pg 233. This is a highly regarded reference for those interested in antique & fine Mexican jewelry. Most of the Mexican silversmiths of importance from the 20th century are documented in this book.  WEIGHT: 8 grams CONDITION: For its age very good vintage.
