Cook, Boston MA Description The boy wears a tailored jacket with wide lapels and a high-buttoned shirt or detachable collar, typical of late Victorian to Edwardian children's formal wear. His neatly combed hairstyle, short on the sides, fuller on top, is consistent with boys' grooming trends from the 1880s to early 1900s. The soft oval framing was popular in studio portraits from the 1880s through the 1910s, often used to create a more artistic, intimate feel. The photographer was L.W.
