Antique Irish crochet lace collar dating to the late Victorian / early Edwardian period, circa 1890–1910. This piece features raised hand-worked crochet motifs joined with fine chain-loop lace, characteristic of Irish crochet technique. Antique Irish Crochet Lace Collar c1900 Edwardian Ecru Cotton V Neck Description Antique Irish crochet lace collar dating to the late Victorian / early Edwardian period, circa 1890–1910. This piece features raised hand-worked crochet motifs joined with fine chain-loop lace, characteristic of Irish crochet technique. Formed into a V-neck collar, likely intended as a detachable collar for a dress or blouse. The back appears intentionally open, consistent with period construction, and may have originally tied with ribbon or been pinned in place. Cream/ecru cotton thread with age-appropriate toning. There is some discoloration and light staining from age, along with a few loose threads. I have not attempted to clean or alter the piece. Measures approximately 28 inches long laid flat (each side approximately 28 inches), formed into a V-neck shape. A lovely example of turn-of-the-century handmade lace, suitable for textile collectors, costume study, display, or careful reuse. Condition Antique condition. Some staining and age wear present.
